Excessive Body and Facial Hair

Excessive facial hair in non hormone dependent area - hypertrichosis can be a hereditary phenomenon and can occur in both males and females which is characterised by increase in facial and body hair in females in hormone dependant areas such as upper lip, chin, jawline, area below the umbilicus, lower back, upper arms and thighs. This is commonly seen due to increased activity of male hormones known as androgens.
